SOLID EV Rides was initially established in 2016 as NXT Motors and has ever since been working on the development of electric motorbikes. After multiple successful financing campaigns, the company’s aim is to introduce high-quality electric motorbikes in different segments. That premium level is achieved through in-house development and collaborations, as well as premium material selection. The first production model today is a “no-nonsense” café racer with an extravagant “less-is-more”-touch.

Over the last couple of years, this team has been triggering us with several concepts and prototypes. My first visit at this company was in August 2017 in Heerenveen to discover the first prototype. ONE was a mix between a fully electric naked bike and café racer concept. In February 2019, they presented a redesigned full carbon fibre prototype, named RAGE, at the Motorbeurs in Utrecht.

Today the company is bringing a bold design to market, and it is clear that SOLID is targeting a certain audience for their new creation.

At the moment, the team is still running last tests on this model – so we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for the final technical specifications. Some minor design elements could be different in the pictures shown in this article. But no doubt that this motorcycle will keep its mean looks. Reservations for test rides can be made through the company’s website.

Harm Besseling, SOLID’s director and head of technical development adds: “Electric motorcycles offer the opportunity to throw traditional designs overboard, and to go for what is truly ground-breaking. SOLID wants to offer its customers a motorcycle that uses the maximum of technical possibilities and offers them the ultimate experience. A powerful product, but also the data that an electric motorcycle develops, is the basis for our customers’ experience.”
